So, my girlfriend bought me empire at war gold pack since it was on sale around new years. I am on my second galactic conquest and I noticed the game will drop FPS after 30 or so minutes. It drops and is variable so it makes me sick very quickly, which sucks because this is the first strategy game I have actually enjoyed and understand. I will admit that my hardware isn't great (a 2015 HP laptop, 8gb ram, AMD R5 integrated graphics, AMD quad core A10) so I don't expect it to run great and I am unsure if I can use mods. I can run KOTOR with minor graphical issues and Republic Commando pretty okay (I should drop the graphics a little to improve frame rate) so I think I should be able to run Empire at war.

I have seen plenty of people complain but I can't decipher what I should do about it. Any help will be extremely appreciated

Hello, I believe you found your answer, but if not, I have one. I am surprise no one else has replied to your question.

The faster your computer, the faster the game plays. I noticed the longer you play the game without turning your computer off or putting it to sleep, the slower the game goes. I have been playing for about 1-2 hours, then taking a break.

I hope this helps.

By the way, how are you doing with the gameplay. I can give you some pointers if you want some.

as weird and odd as this is you need to go into the folder where the game is installed. Then you will change sweaw.exe to swfoc.exe (leave out the.exe). I don't know why or how this fixes it but it has fixed it for me and multiple others.
