Hello, I'm terribly sorry for the bother as I normally try to solve my own problems, but I have the following two issues I can't seem to work out.

The first one has to do with the Empire campaign crawl - it will not display at all, leaving the Star Wars logo and an empty starfield as the music rolls on. Strangely, this doesn't happen for the Rebellion campaign.

The second one has to do with mods heavily stuttering - the vanilla game works just fine in Windows 98/Me compatibility mode and disabled DPI scaling.

It's worth mentioning I attempted the fixes in the Disney site, but they can't be applied to this game.

Any assistance I can get will be most appreciated!

I assume you are talking about EAW and not FOC.

The Disney patch shall install without any problem, unless you have chosen some strange directory names.
For me I used like:
D:\GOGGames\Star Wars - Empire At War Gold

And IIRC just had to point it to there and it installed without any problem.
Do NOT use any "." or special (meaning NON-latin) characters in the installation name, this is a reaaaaaaally old windows problem.

MODS: I am using quite a few mods and never had problems, so more info needed :P

Hello - Sorry about the delay.

I was trying to install everything into a portable HDD. Installing into C and applying the patches seems to have done the trick.

Thank you very much!

No problem.

Portable shall work as well. BUT it has to be detected (IIRC) as a HD and not as a removable media or similar. I did run my version of a USB-HD and no problem. And again make sure about the naming restrictions. Applies to HD-names as well. ;)
I'm having the same problem with the crawl. Stuttering for me was fixed with the DPI fix and the game works fine in every other way but in campaign, after "Star Wars" it's just plain stars. If I wait patiently it goes to the animation where Vader lands on the planet. So everything works but no crawl text.

I applied the Disney patch and it found my installation folder automatically. No effect.
I'm using Windows 10 and the folder is named with roman letters, on a HDD that is detected as HD.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: I battled with this problem few hours yesterday evening before going to sleep. Now when I launched the game again it works?! I guess a reboot after the patch did it or something?

OK, so I switch to win 98/me and this fixes the performance hiccuping however it then starts sound stuttering.

Any clue how to sort that out?

I want to play the vanilla campaigns and FOC with or without mods have neither issue.
The stuttering in the Battles ends with the setting of the Compatibility Mode but the Compatibility Mode use only one Core of the CPU. Set more Cores for the Process (Task-Manager, Details, "sweaw.exe", Right-Click, Set affinity). This ends the stuttering in the Galaxyview for me.

Win 10 64Bit, SWEaW Vanilla

Bye

*edit It must be set for every Session..
