Installed game on disc drive hard drive computer and solid state hard drive computer and had the same results. It is terribly slow to load and to play. I cant play it all all due to the latency issues. Really unfortunate.

I think you are talking about EAW and not Forces of corruption, if so:

This was solving my stuttering, I was only able to play like 30 minutes, before it started stuttering.......afterwards it only happens once in a while.

and as well

Then it shall run normal.

I am running it on a W8.1 machine without problems.

One thing which throws me off, even with SATA3 or SSD, saving a game still takes ages, but that might be hardcoded ;)
I have the disc version and it runs fine on my computer.

Decided to get the GoG version nonetheless.

GoG version shows the same symptoms, gameplay stutters/slows down, what I also noticed is that EAX cannot be used (worked fine for both EAW and FOC from the disc version).

I think something about the audio files could be wrong on the GoG version.

I have been using EAX4 without issues. Do you have Alchemy installed?

I resolved the slow down issues using the patch for more than 2GB ram and multiplayer lobby issues from the link GOODALTGAMER provided.

Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, I have Alchemy installed (great for Diablo 2 alone) but only "Star Wars Empire at War" appears in its list (not the addon, afair it had a seperate entry in the disc version). Might have thought this was due to my soundcard but I actually have two different Creative cards, one is an internal Soundblaster Z, the other is an external USB Omni Surround.

Other than that, thanks again for pointing out to the Multiplayer Lobby Patch. Always had that one installed for the disc version but did not think it was necessary for the GoG version. Installed it now (sound problem remains the same but it seems to run more smooth now).

According to this thread:

you need to run FOC for Alchemy to realize it.....

You are welcome ;)
I did but that did not help. BUT! You still made my day as I was browsing in Alchemy after your tip and saw that one can manually add items to the list! Added manually and now EAW is back to all its EAX glory. Thank you!

Here's a link to the alchemy website archive. It gives info on manually adding games to Alchemy, along with settings for games others have added, in case Alchemy doesn't recognize them.
