I found it kinda weird that the developer wasn't listed on the store page for this.
Petroglyph is a large part of what remains of the classic RTS developer Westwood after all, I would've thought the C&C/Dune ties would be highlighted rather than hidden - this is pretty much Emperor: Battle for Dune set in the Star Wars universe after all.

It's the publisher that is listed, not the developer. That applies to all Star Wars games.

For all non-Star Wars games don't they usually list both developer and publisher?
Unfortunately I don't feel bad for them here. This game has absolutely no AI. Don't believe me? Play a campaign and leave it running (the game is in real time) overnight. The AI will never attack your fleets or planets. This really ruined any replay value. I was very disappointed with this game. Don't they even know how to program an AI. Hell, the enemies in Master of Orion would at least attack you.
Are you talking about Campaign mode or Galactic Conquest? I distinctly remember getting attacked in Campaign mode, and I wasn't even that far in the game yet. This was with the disc version. Haven't tried Galactic Conquest -- Empire at War didn't click with me back when I played it.

Now, if you were talking about the phoned-in Masari "campaign" in Universe at War, then you'd be 100% correct.

Speaking of Petroglyph, their next game, Grey Goo, releases tomorrow. Unfortunately, I saw the first two campaign missions on Youtube and wasn't impressed. They were just skirmishes with extra objectives. The third mission had a unique objective, but still didn't look like a "campaign" mission. When will the singleplayer RTS return?

GC AI attacks you, the Consortium annoyingly so in fact. Might be a bug, but to be honest the AI in RTS always sucks or cheats, this game was meant to be played with actual people.

This is factually untrue. I've played this game for over 180 hours, from the basic rebel campaign and imp campaigns to FOC and a couple different mods. In campaigns and Galactic Conquest mode of any kind enemy fleets can and do attack your bases. Then again I've never played on "Easy" mode, just medium and hard.

The enemy will attack any planets that they think are easy pickings, basically if you don't have upgraded space stations and a decent defense fleet they will come. I've even worked out strategies so that they split forces to attack a "weak" planet, vape a level 1 space station, then get trounced when they land troops. I then move my fleets around to where they launched from, attack their underdefended planet, then lie in wait for their attack fleet to rush back home and annihilate them.Rinse and repeat.

I have no idea why this happened to me then. I'm not making this up, this was my experience. I'm intrigued right now and I am going to definitely give the game another shot. I will let you guys know what happens. Campaigns are often scripted, but like I said I left the game running for hours in the GC mode doing nothing while I was at work, and when I came home the AI had also done nothing. I did this experiment because I noticed this was happening other times I played as well.

Even if what you say is the case, the fact that your strategy works so well shows it has piss poor AI.
