Playing Jedi Knight, I noticed that there was no HUD at all on the screen: no crosshair, no health, no ammo, nothing. I tried instaling the jkultimate patch that has been suggested elsewhere, but all it did was make all graphics disappear; after unzipping every file in the JK folder, everything was black (except for the crosshair, ironically). I have also tried to press the minus or plus buttons, and to adjust the screen size in the game's setting, but it didn't work. I have also tried adding the "windowgui" parameter in the shortcut's properties, to no avail.

Is there anything I'm missing? If it helps, I'm using an Nvidia Geforce GTX650; in the game's settings, I have 3D Acceleration on and I'm running at 1024x720 resolution.

Also, the mouse view feels very clunky, no matter how I adjust the sensitivity; it's like it takes a lot of force before it registers that I moved it, and then it speeds away uncontrollably.

I can use any help, because I'm at my wit's end here.

This question / problem has been solved by jnisbetimage
3D acceleration doesn't work on Windows 8 and Windows 10. If there are any HUD elements on-screen, it won't render any 3D graphics.

As for the mouse clunkiness, try going to your pointer settings, and turning "Enhance pointer precision" off and then on again. This solved it for me. I turned it off, hit apply, turned it back on, and applied again.

Make sure that you have a "32bpp" resolution selected (you need to scroll down to the bottom of the resolution list). If you have a "16bpp" one selected, you get the common black screen, which isn't exactly the problem that you're having, but perhaps it's related.

If no 32bpp resolutions are available, then you need to download the DDraw fix or dgVoodoo, which you can find at the link in the 1st post of the stickied "Jedi Knight/MotS Hardware Acceleration Graphics Patches for ALL" thread. You may also need the pre-patched Unofficial Patch from the same link.
