Can someone please tell me how to fix the insert disc 2 bug? The game always asks for disc 2 when playing a video (starting at level 9 I guess). Using jkultimate and installing jke does not help to get rid of this problem (the rest of the game is working fine). Some how I managed to fix it once after installing jke and the patch that came with the .zip but then I couldn't load any level.

I started getting this message once I installed the sound fix and LOD fix from the other thread. Nothing else changed in my folders and it worked perfectly before. My money is on the LOD fix since it replaces the original .jkl files.
You probably have a modified JK.EXE.

However, there is an external file that specifies which "CD" you have. There's 3 modes for it, "CD1", "CD2", and "CD3".

There is no CD3, of course. But with it present, the game will load both CD1 and CD2 levels. Perhaps it was put there for a later DVD release or for internal testing.

GoG comes with the "CD1" cd specifier file, with the EXE patched to ignore CD checks. Which means if you then get a modified EXE without the CD checks patched out, the game will think you have CD1 inserted.

To fix it, try saving this file into the Jedi Knight/Resource folder, overwriting the old JK_.CD file. This will make the game think you have "CD3" (or "both cds") inserted, no matter what JK.EXE is patched to do.

I know this is bumping this old thread, but I can confirm that the new JK_.CD file fixes the "insert CD #2" issue when revisiting cutscenes. Thank you!
