Someone gave me a joystick, which I thought would be an enormous help playing Dark Forces 2. I decided to try it with Mysteries of the Sith. However, the thing I hoped it might help the most with has me still stumped.

At certain places one is either in water or in Zero G. How can I convince the joystick to go 'down' instead of only forward? I thought looking down and pushing forward at the same time would do it but no luck. Since this is a timed level, I have no hope going back merely a keyboard. (In fact trying to maneuver with the keyboard on this level nearly made me give up entirely on the game.)

The joystick is microsoft sidewinder joystick. I keep thinking there must be some configuration that will work but don't know what it is. Can anyone give me any advice?

Don't you need to crouch to go 'down'?
