I'm looking for a way to customize the controls for a gamepad.

You might be able to do it with a AutoHotkey script. I believe that the joystick features apply to controllers, as well.

AutoHotkey is a free utility for running simple (or complex) scripts that you've written to automate just about anything that you can think of in Windows. Google it or go to autohotkey.com
