They're made and published by the same people, so honestly I want to know why Battlefront 1 had no online release at all. It's not on Steam, even years before the new Battlefront was announced. They can just rename it to Battlefront Classic or something.

Bespin (Platforms & Cloud City) are my absolutely favorite levels in BF1, nowhere to be seen in BF2.
I had to get it by other means.

Most of the BF1 mods where ported for BF2. Maybe you can grab one of these downloadable maps for your replacement. But yeah, BF1 should be available too. For my luck I have the DVDs for BF1 (2007 version) and BF2 original release.

I really don't know. There's more than one conversion pack out there for the original maps (one that goes with 1.3 unofficial with a lot of extras of varying quality, and Marvel4's which is directly map and content restoration related but seems to be much better grounded), but since I never played 1, I'd like the opportunity to do so.

Most likely that will be a long way out if we see BF1 though; EA probably doesn't want the old game taking up money the recent other BF1 that didn't do spectacularly could be taking.
