vegorama: Yep, so, still no news...?

I guess GOG have turned to the dark side.

YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE GOG!

YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING BALANCE THE SERVERS, NOT DESTROY THEM.
So was the Anakin.....but he was still the best villain :D
The multiplayer working great only the Galaxy and Steam servers not really. I wonder why they doesn't host just some simple dedicated servers, and instead of Galaxy they code the new master server's address into the files. This would be more direct method and I'm sure would be less laggy also.

But okay, if they insist the Galaxy/Steam network third party solution, then why can't we get the dedicated server software to host games for ourselves on their network? I never had any lag no matter if I joined a server hosted from France, USA, or Japan when it was hosted directly. But of course the joining required to know the IP which was shared on their forums.

It wouldn't be hard to host only a master server and force the game connecting to it, then letting the players host the games on that server. Even GOG could host one and doesn't have to rely on Galaxy when it doesn't work with the expected performance yet.
