all im looking for is a master server that is 100% reliable.
i know how to modify the exe so that you can change master servers and not have to rely on gog or steam.
if you have the original main discs or game files/exe and cd key your game is still playable.
this new ea trash is not swbf and never will be.

If they fix the multiplayer patch you will have a reliable master server. Nothing is 100% reliable. If they don't people can just revert to patch 1.1 in gog galaxy or from the downloads section on gog.com (logged on of course). Then just apply 1.3 patch and the SWBF2Spy thingy. No idea if SWBF2Spy is reliable.

No need for cd keys and discs.

If nothing works or your find it unreliable, the game still offers direct connection to join with your friend over the net. No one will see the game however, only those who knows your IP address.
