Yeah, so ... even I create a new profile, change to it and join a game I always join ans xtharpe.

Same here. Seems that different profiles are used in single player only. For multiplayer purposes the game registers a player with his/her GOG profile name. So, the solution would be to change the name in our GOG account. But, being a noob in all things GOG I don't know how to achieve this :P

With this issue, and that fact that connecting to servers is iffy, I'm somewhat disappointed.

If the GOG guys don 't resolve this soon, I am afraid that they 'll become the targets of massive nerd-rage. From what I am reading, both the GOG and the Steam fora are about to explode. If this happens, I think that it 'll bring a lot of bad publicity for GOG. To tell the truth, I am playing other games while waiting for the whole thing to resolve but, not everyone has the will to wait. The important implication is that when-and if- the multiplayer will be ready, there will be really few players online. Not good...Not good at all. But, as a little green fellow used to say:

I dont mind that goggalacy uses the account names. I played some of the Battelfront2 crossplay multiplayer and i dont care that other Players see that i play. I dont understand why this is a Problem for you and that you want a namechange option.

Well, let's see.
First off, it's part of the game and has been since 2005.
Second, maybe my friend want's to play while I do my Calc homework..... but he/she is forced to use my profile since creating new ones is impossible.

1.The Game nowadays uses goggalaxy for the multiplayer and not the old multiplayersystem.
2. For the sake of argument lets assume that your friend wants to play a few rounds. Your friend can still log in whit his/her goggalaxy account and play . And even if your friend has to use your gogaccount you can still friendly decline if you are worry for your account that your friend might do something that damage you reputation or embarrass you.And if your friend dont has an gogaccount you can help him/her to get one for themself to play on .

For the time being, let's focus on more important matters: if GOG gets the multiplayer ready and rolling, I could forgive them for not being capable of changing my name in the game. Oh, well...Patience
