altipar: Yes, I had the same issue. The solution is to assign the game's executable to just one CPU core. You can do this as follows:
1) Right-click on the game's shortcut and select "Properties".
2) Copy and paste the following in the Target field:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 1 "C:\GOG Games\Star Wars - Battlefront\GameData\battlefront.exe" The same fix works great for many other games that were written before the multi-core era, including
Blitzkrieg Anthology and
Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
So this worked at first, then the menu went back to hitching. I tried reinstalling, then tweaking tthe shortcut again. It starts perfectly without hitching, then when I pass the first level (Naboo) and make it to Theed City, the cutscene (with movie footage) stutters terribly. If I restart, the menu is back to hitching. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
