Does the GoG version of Battlefront have gamepad support? If so I'll refund my Steam version and buy it here.

Somewhat. The game does detect 360 controllers, and you can rebind the keys in-game. However, there are two issues I've ran into so far. Firstly, the bindings don't reflect the button names, i.e. Xbox RT is shown as Joystick Z-axis (Not a big deal). And second, there doesn't appear to be a way to rebind the escape key to pause the game (At least without 3rd party programs). And in order to pick your class and spawn, you'd need to use a mouse.

So, given 5-10 minutes in the controls menu, you could have a Star Wars Battlefront that is about 90% controller compatible. Enjoy!

Thanks for answering, I was curious as well.
Being as XInput was released in late 2005 and SWBF was released in 2004, the game uses the old DirectInput, and that would be why the Xbox 360 Controller buttons get mapped strangely, like right trigger being joystick z-axis as Scion458 mentioned.

If you have a DirectInput controller then this issue shouldn't happen.

As for the remapping of the Escape key, you could try to use a third party tool, like Xpadder, Joy2Key or XInput Plus, or even creating an AutoHotKey script.

While the original Lucas Arts/Pandemic release did support gamepads, the official position I received from GOG.com support team is that gamepads are not supported with this release.

Apparently some users with Xbox controllers are not experiencing any issues. I have direct input controllers and they are not recognized by the game without the use of additional mapping software.
I just buyed it.

You can rebind the keys in game and works great (Xbox one pad). But my mainly issue is i can't seem to find how to configure Sticks sensitivity, that are too low by default. Right now i just unbind those keys, set movement and look in Xpadder, and Esc key, and everything works almost as a game with native support.

Having a lot of fun by the way.
