Unless my memory is failing, SFC had voice acting, particularly from George Takei. I just bought and installed it in the hopes it would run better under Win 10, and it runs fine but there's no speech. I can't find anything in the options to control sound.

Is there a problem I'm unaware of?

SFC1 doesn't have in-game speech, except for the academy missions.
The successors have in-game speech, including ship's status reports.

Again.
SFC1 doesn't have any in-game speech, except for the tutorial missions. The successors do however.
