Hi there!
Anyone does know if is possible to map another axis for throttle and rudders? The game seem to use only pitch and yawn, but the use of the other axis would be more than usefull.
Any chance?
I think most games of that era don't have support for all those axis. Would be glad to be wrong.

Yes, probably STSFA doesn't make difference :/
SFA never had native rudder / aileron joystick support. Back when I played this, in Win 98 days, I was able to remap the roll right and left to buttons on my joystick. That software doesn't run in my OS so I've been trying to use an emulator to at least remap it to buttons. No luck here so far

Klingon Academy didn't have native joystick rudder control either until the 1.02 patch. Also very awesome native forcefeedback support was added. The stick jerks nicely when you shoot your cannons and torpedoes. If near an explosion it fights you. Best native forcefeedback implementation

SFA is still one of the greatest flight sims. So great to have this GOG version never more stable and never looked better. I did mod it with DG Voodoo to enable the eye candy, higher resolution and widescreen
I still have my old game saves backed up but decided not to restore them because I actually forget most of the game and it has been like playing it for the first time. I'm just going to savor every moment again.

Yes it was quite common for flight sims to have full 360 rudder control. DOS games like Wing Commander 4. The X-Wing/ Tie series. Many games back then. It just took Interplay a bit to catch up.

If only WC4 had it and not the earlier games then it's not that common. Also, I can't get X-Wing/Tie Fighter to map the rudder separately (maybe Alliance does this but it's a much newer game), only as a toggle where you hold down a button to give up on the rudder in order to have roll or vice versa so that's not exactly full support either unless I'm missing a setting.
