Ok well I was playing this on my windows 98 box, not the gog version, the original and it actully looked better, the 3d models looked more defined. Is there something I'm missing?

The driver for your 98 box is different to the one in your gog box? My AMD g-card in my game rig doesn't like this old game but my cheap in-built Intel g-card in my Asus laptop looks pretty.

oh yea my 98 box is running detonator 4 drivers for my Geforce 3 Ti 500

I got it looking a little better by installing direct play, it seems DX11 doesn't have great comparability with DX3

I noticed the same thing. Very little detail on the starships as compared to when I played this game on Win 95/98. How do I enable DirectPlay on Windows 7?
