When the game launches and the main menu comes up the mouse works for about a second before the cursor becomes completely nonresponsive. Is anyone else having this problem?

I do have this problem. I can kind of use it, but it's extremely unresponsive and will not touch certain parts of the screen. It's also shaking like crazy while I move it as if it's trying not to move where I want it to and is fighting me.

I have the same problem. Won't allow me to do anything after a second. The mouse moves and then won't load. Any suggestions from anyone?

EDIT: I was able to get this to work. I followed the steps for wide screen mod install as well as getting the options.cfg download into my STBC folder. Ran it as administrator mode and compatability mode for windows 7. I then did a full restart on my computer and it started working! Hope that helps!

I was able to fix my mouse problems by fiddling around with my Display device settings, had to do it again when i started the game again but it still fixed it the second time i booted

I found a solution to this problem. I have an Intel Arc GPU and found that my mouse was stuck when I started this game. It would work absolutely fine in Windows Safe Mode, but using the Intel Arc dGPU drivers, the mouse would be stuck and I couldn't do anything in the game. It's some kind of incompatibility with the display driver, but the answer is to use a D3D wrapper to emulate old drivers by using dgVoodoo2. Maybe the stuck mouse problem is Intel Arc-specific, or maybe it's because the game can't detect your dGPU and only wants to use your iGPU. Anyway this frees up the mouse so it works correctly.

From the zip, drop the files MS/x86/DDraw.dll and MS/x86/D3Dlmm.dll into the game's root folder (folder with STBC.exe). Also put D3D9.dll in there for good measure and back up the one that's already in there. Then, open dgVoodooCpl.exe to configure which GPU you want it to use. This will also resolve issues if the game won't use your dGPU (on my laptop it wanted to use the iGPU and wouldn't let me change it). You will need to point the control panel to your STBC folder. Took me a couple weeks to find this solution, I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.
