The mod seems to kill fullscreen mode. Even when I select one of the built-in resolutions, fullscreen mode leads to instant crash to desktop. This is quite a probem for me, since my new laptop has a UHD panel and 1080p@windowed mode only uses the upper left quarter of my screen. This is also very tiny on a 17" display. ;-)

Also, the game occasionally crashes when ships explode.

EDIT: Editing the options.cfg file to force UHD resolution leads to the infamous D3D Renderer error, because the game does not work at all with resolutions that have more than 1200 vertical pixels (height).

I am trying to lower the resolution from 1080p, because the view screen is cut off when battling ships in Bridge Mode. With 1080p, the bridge mode is not usable for battles. However, changing the options.cfg file to compatible resolutions such as 1280x1024 doesn't work. Every time I do that, I will have to replace the options.cfg file from the mod download; reverting the resolution back to 1920x1080 in the options file doesn't help to bring the game back to start.

Also, changing the resolution in-game doesn't work and only causes a crash.
Yes, fullscreen gets disabled, but that is no problem. Just set your desktop to 1920x1080 and the game is fullscreen (well, actually it is windowed but you won't see that).
I'm not trying to discourage anyone from using this mod but when I installed it my game crashed and no amount of editng the options file would fix it. I ended up having to uninstall and resinstall the game to a different folder location to even get the game to load again.

Again, these are just my experiences. If you are able to get the mod working, that's awesome. I wish I could but at this point I am done messing with it.

Yup i pretty much gave up. i start it and the screen is off-centered for some reason with no mouse I try and switch the resolutions and the game crashes a few seconds after.
Hey there i have the mod downloaded and the Issue I'm getting is it crashes after every chapter in single player. I'm at the station fighting of the cardassians and as soon as the cutscene happens and starts to load the next chapter it just crashes and I've redone it 3 times now and it's very infuriating lol

DAkuma: There is a problem with the switch between Episode 2 and 3, it could crash.

Silver83: I have the exact same problem with the mod. Without it the game runs just fine. Well, it's the same problem with all mods modifying the single player campaign. The game can get very unstable. Playing vanilla until anyone finds a fix for it (which I wouldn't count on).

EDIT: I have now added the new starfield from the mod (this is really making a difference) and only a few other textures to at least get a few of those neat improvements. Working just fine.

The 4GB aware patch will likely solve both of your issues. You can get it here: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

Applying it to the stbc.exe allows the game to use more of your system's RAM and usually prevents most crashes.
Has any one tried to run the remaster with the german language patch version?

Edit:
was able to answer the question by self.

1. install BC
2. Install BC Remaster.
3. uncheck write restriction for Game files of Bridge Commander in the related directory. (if write restrictions are not unchecked the german patch can not be installed)
4. Run German Language Patcher.
5 Patch Finished

Run game and play.

at this time i was not able to see any issue in relation of BC Remaster Mod and German Patch

kind regards

I found the solution to the fullscreen bug!!!

The error originates in the "BCLogo.bik" video file. It seems that its resolution is too high. So I swapped it with the "Activision.bik" file (meaning: I switched filenames). Now, the game starts in fullscreen mode.
BUT: It is possible that the game will crash at the end of the campaign when it tries to play the Victory (or Loss) videos! Remember: This mod supplies upscaled video material! I suspect that the game's video player simply was not designed to play such high-res videos in fullscreen mode and that is why it crashes with the high res (1440x1080) "BCLogo.bik" at startup. So, it is possible that this will occur with any of the high-res videos, too.

This mod sounds like a good idea, but it needs a lot more work regarding stability and compatibility with modern resolutions. I couldn't even get it to launch in 1680x1050 after several tweaks to the options file.

For now, I would recommend the Kobayashi Maru mod, which is more stable and contains a good amount of content.

GTrash81: After finishing the campaign, I wanted to try the Remastered mod.
Well, the game crashes at the start of every single player mode.
Quick Battle? Crash in loading screen.
Single player? Crash in Loading screen.
Additionally the game crashes at start, if any resolution other than 1920x1080 is configured.
You can start the game in 1080p and change the resolution to 1024p afterwards,
but starting with 1024p causes crashes.
im also having the same problems after installing the mod

VonFrank42: I have released the V1.1 update to the Remastered mod. You can find it here:

I am unable to post links here, but you can find the mod on both Nexus, Gamefront and Moddb.

Please not the installation instructions. Many of the issues from the old version will be solved with the update!
i have to ask i cant play bridge commander with the remastered mod installed as it is causing me many problems for cutting off and not even starting the game and i even followed the directions
See here:

is there a way to get it out of windowed mode? on my 4k monitor it's stuck in teh top left quadrant, there seems to be no way to reposition it or enlarge it, do i have to force the res down to 1920x1080 for that monitor?

Hello everyone,
I installed patch 1.2.3 and have one problem. How do you fire pulse phasers and Quantum Torpedoes? I can fire regular torpedoes but I cannot figure out how to switch to Quantum.
