Just in case any of GOG's updates/fixes affects things, I figured I'd report in that I'm having zero issues using the old Borg Incursion 2/Counter Strike mod. Still need to dig up my old map collection.

Damn. Makes me wish I still had my drive with all the old mods... Empire and Federation would be all kinds of awesome right now (TOS era total conversion mod for Armada 1).

I remember a B5 mod I quite liked. Surely most of the old mods are still floating around somewhere?

The old mod host from back in the day no longer exists and from what I can see, the replacements are missing a lot. The armadafleetcommand.com website appears to have the most, but even that is missing some of the good ones. They do have a B5 mod on there though, not sure if its the one you remember.

I've got a copy of the B5 Mod + Patch + Music, I tossed it on Google Drive, let me know if you want a link. Apparently I can't put the link directly in this message. I can also toss Borg Incursion (and addons) on there if anybody wants them.

I will report that I've found a few maps that cause CTD when trying to use, but most of the ones I've tried work fine. I haven't tried the B5 mod with the GOG version, but Borg Incursion seems to work fine save for a few missing textures that I don't recall being an issue back in the day, but that could just be my memory failing me.

Downloading borg incursion 2 mod now. Would give it a try.
Also playing: FleetOptsRoots, which is stable on the maps I play in MP.
and would try anything else that is stable.

I remember making a fair few back in the day of maps for a2 that i liked from a1 like green glow. I like seperated maps using wormholes etc, somewhere to defend point of entry to the others and urselfs empires areas. Felt more like u were in quadrents that way.

Think i uploaded em but i searched and couldnt find my maps or map packs. :(

Folks, is anyone able to give an brief idiots guide (me being the idiot here) on how to install mods and maps to Armada II please?

Maps go into the bzn folder. Usually a map consists of 3 files: the .bzn file which is the map itself, a .png thumbnail for the map selection screen, and a file that's mostly text and and contains a list of map objects like dilithium moons. All these files should be put into the bzn folder within the game directory.
