Well at least old CD projeckt is releasing as buggy as old Bethesda use to. Cannot even get the game to launch to the title screen. Game just freezes up and i have to close desktop to close GOG galaxy and the game. What a mess. Guess I got Cyberpunked again.
Are you using Windows 7 or 10 ?

Windows 7 will lock up, due to its usiing gameux.dll to try and communicate with the old microsoft games network. Need to disable to Double run the game.

Ishy.

They didn't, but it doesn't stop people from bashing them aimlessly after their misled expectations are broken over a turn-of-the-millennium game that was always held together by wishful thinking even on computers of the time (:

But if they can't fix it they shouldn't sell it, especially not for 10 bucks?

You must be new to retro gaming.

No solution will ever work for 100% of configurations (just as these don't work for AMD cards; then again AMD drivers are shit for non-latest games and that's an old fact) and GOG doesn't have the resources nor permission to reverse-engineer bits of it to make something like a big community patch.

It's DIY or nothing in this space.
Seems that testing isn't GOG's strength, for me it looks like they did not event start this game 1 time on system with AMD GPU to see if it runs correctly with packaged dx wrapper using default settings.

For all anyone knows they did, Windows 10 emulation of older DirectX (i think its 8 and below for Emu) vs 9.1c was doggy enough.

Ive run this on a AMD GPU (Ryzen) and a 6700XT and ran smoothly. had to play with the dxcfg. This was a NEW windows 10 21H2 and latest drivers.

GoG cant expect to check every drivers/GFX/APU under the sun, theres a ton of people with nVidia cards having problems, as ive helped a couple myself.

I've noticed some people have a old windows setups (originally Upgraded from 7 or 8 then 10 and various backwards builds). Basically had to reinstall with fresh win 10 and patch and then worked OK.

Retro gaming and patching is a continues trial of courage, information and testing.

Look at recent games coming out, they need PATCHES just to work out-of-the-box (first released version!).

Thats just how the model works now :(

If you want help, come to discord, and whisper Elerion#6828, i'll see if i can help.

They can only fix errors they can reproduce.

It works on mine. If it works on all their computers they woud not even know what to fix.

As usual you can always try to use dgVoodoo2 and play the game with a virtual graphics card. That helped with a lot of games.

And btw, Activision is listed as publisher, not GOG. If you want to blame someone for not testing enough, call them out.

The problem GOG have is that they've advertised it as though they've modified it for New computers. They haven't and that's what's getting people's backs up. I've got the original copies of these Star Trek games and can get them working on Windows 10. I decided to try GOG as they claimed that the games were improved for modern computers. They were exactly the same. I got my money back that same day so at least they are decent in that respect. But really if they didn't want backlash they shouldn't make false claims to begin with.
