I have re-downloaded the program twice and both times I install it and then run it and I can't read the screen. The screen just has blocks that represent letters on the screen. Has anybody else experienced this issue? More importantly...does anybody have a fix for this?

Running Fedora Linux 22 64-bit.

Thanks.

I don't remember seeing anything similar, and I've had a couple of issues with the game so far, but in any case it sounds like a graphics driver issue. What graphics card are you using?

It would also help if you could share a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Yeah, the graphics driver is at fault for that horrible screen garble.

Noticed you're using the open source drivers. Have you tried installing the proprietary ones (fglrx)?

Unfortunately, open source driver support for some (newer) AMD chipsets is still very shabby.

I have tried the proprietary ones.... unfortunately they were ALOT more work.... Is that my only option? :(

That or wait for fixes to the open source drivers (but that may take a while).

You could also take this up with the developers on the official game forum, or you can try PM-ing Firgof here on GoG (he's one of the developers).

I sent a message to the dev. Thanks for the help.
If this is the same issue I had, you need to somehow update the game to 1.02 (via ingame updater). After that it works fine. You are using radeon (opensource) driver right? I updated it on my other PC where I have nvidia and then copied over. You could also try usb stick or installing fglrx temporarily (though those are a bit hard to remove later XD)

I will try that! Thanks.

Holy COW!!! It worked. If you are having the same problem....start the program and it is the 5th "blob" down on the left side... "Check for Updates".

Thanks for the help :D
Had the same problem myself :) Glad it worked!
Worked for me too, thanks!

I've sent GOG a suggestion to include the patch in their installer.
