On running the default Windows version, it says it's V1.0 but I gather there's a newer version. Any plans to update to this in the GOG release?

Well, I guess radio silence means no chance for now. You can try patches for the retail version (just copy your saves and installation folder to have a backup, just in case) and try them (Patches Scrolls was well know in the Good Old Days for hosting official patches and fixes for games):

Tried that, the patch is an executable that will try to patch some files, but fail, because some of them are already patched, an the rest have unexpected checksums.

Interesting. I just purchased as well and the download version claims to be 1.1 but the in-game shows 1.0. I'm confused.
