Could anyone help me to find which is the superior version of Star Control games. I hear that 3DO is the preferred version for Star Control 2. Is that true?

How about Star Control 1? Are Amiga or Genesis versions superior to the DOS game?

There is a free remake of Star Control 2 called the Ur-Quan Masters that can be made close to the 3DO version by installing some extra's and there is also a free HD remake, don't know anything about the Amiga versions though.
Personally I prefer the non HD remake without the 3DO voice acting which is close to the one GOG sells.

I have now made a bit of more research for Star Control 1 and it turns out Genesis has lower FPS and is inferior. There is a debate between DOS and Amiga versions though. I have read Amiga has superior sound and DOS has superior image/video quality.

So I still am not sure if Amiga or DOS is the superior version for Star Control 1.

All i know is the amiga version is better than the one on here, one of the specific memories I had of this game was when you would hear 'Launch Fighters' as you launched the fighters, but you don't hear it on this one, quite a shame really.
