I'm new to this game series, and I'm starting with Star Control 1. So, I started up the game and found this screen called, "Professor Zorg's Guide to Alien Etiquette".

This seems to be a measure of copy protection, and I don't see anything about it in the manual. Does anyone know what we are supposed to do here?

You should be able to just press the [Enter] key and it works - it looks like the need to enter the old copy protection codes has been disabled in this version.

In this version, it's been disabled. It still asks a question, but it should let you through whether or not you input anything.

If you're running a version that has this copy protection, you can find the answers at http://uqm.stack.nl/zorg/ and an online copy of Zorg's Guide to Alien Etiquette at http://www.star-control.com/hosted/zorg/zorg.cgi
Thanks so much! I was just worried that I was missing out on some content, and I guess I was also afraid of getting that, "Son, I am dissapoint" kind of message by entering it in wrong. I know that some games like King's Quest tend to have fun copy protection. So, I was hoping for something like that. But if it's just a nonsensical word combination thing, that's fine.

Dumb question. I can't figure out how to download and open the game manuals for star control 1 -2. When I open them it's all giberish. Where can I get a basic how to about playing this game?
