I guess because I'm not using Galaxy, Stalker 2 always wastes like 10-15 seconds on "setting up profile" which fails.

Is there some way to skip that step?

Agreed.
Wishing to skip that step too.

I submitted a ticket and that's how I found out it was Galaxy related.
They gave me steps to follow to unblock or fix Galaxy.
I replied that I don't use Galaxy and never got a reply.

After installing version 1.0.523 I can confirm that the Galaxy profile requirement is still there.

You can't skip the step, you can however make it act normal just by having GoG running. It does not need to be installed through GoG but with it running in the background it should go right through the profile step instantly. :)

What's the profile thing for. I thought it was something like make a account on their web page or something. I know it doesn't work. You can't get it to connect with anything.

I'd rather get a proper fix for that. I submitted a ticket for game developers about it.

UPDATE:

Found this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/186

But it says it might break DLCs (not sure what exactly that means, expansions?), so doesn't sound like a good fix.
