It doesn't look like either will get any cheaper on GOG's summer sale, nor are they cheaper elsewhere (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm a big fan of open-world RPGs, and so I ask is either worth it at this price ($13)? What can I expect from the series?

You're right, it isn't significantly cheaper elsewhere. Check for sales here:
