Install Stalker into the same bottle
now it is working.
but when i click 'new game' and doesn't proceed at loading screen;;
so i restart and click option, at the video , made them for lowest system.

and restart, still doesn't proceed at loading screen but loading bar has increased a little then before.
but still stuck at that screen and when i press space bar or return(enter) stalker quits automatically
oh wait,
i launch the wine configuration and disabled d3dx11_42 ..
but still stuck at loading screen....

Settings are stored in user.ltx in a folder in Documents; go to your Wine Documents folder and delete it there.

You might need to reinstall the game again after doing this (I don't recall whether it generates this file by itself) but either way that will clear out the settings.

Hello all....

I'm having the same problem as ipiriel2 but I'm using Wineskin and not Crossover. Could someone explain how to access terminal to edit the command line in Wineskin? I've tried using "command line wine test" in "tools", but that hasn't worked (possibly because I'm doing it wrong.)

I've attached a picture of what I've tried. Am I doing it wrong or am I using the wrong tool? Or what?

Thanks in advance

Does Install Software not work for some reason? IIRC, you can specify command line options with that. Otherwise, advanced-Install other software or command line tool.

How do you use Install Software to specify command line options? It just asks me to choose setup executable, and when i choose the Stalker COP exe it doesn't finish installing properly (the same issue the OP had).

I don't see a "install other software" option in advanced. The two "command line" tools i see are "command line wine test" and "command line shell". I've attached a picture of using "command line shell" and my last post has a picture of "command line wine test". neither of them are working, unless I am doing it wrong (which i quite possibly am).

That's the one, of those two, that you want. What's your home folder mounted as? I would manually cd to that folder in command line shell and run the .exe from there. Your path is probably wrong?

EXE Flags.
I'm sure that my path was wrong, but I realized that I can use "EXE flags" in Advanced Configuration to simply add "/nogui" instead of messing with terminal.

That seemed to work, but when I open the game now I'm getting an error that says 'Cannot open file "fsgame.ltx". Check your working folder.'
This seems to be a common problem for windows users, but I'm not sure how to solve the problem in wineskin. A common solution to delete the "user.ltx" file doesn't work for some reason.

The struggle continues.
If anyone ever has the same problem as me...

I found a solution to the "fsgame.ltx" issue in this post for Stalker: Clear Sky here:
http://portingteam.com/topic/1726-help-stalker-clear-sky/
"Probably the easiest way to get around that is to copy the contents of the bin folder into the clear sky folder and then run the exe directly from there."

That worked for me (except replace "clear sky" with "call of pripyat").

Then I had the common X-ray engine error that has been solved here:
http://www.gog.com/forum/stalker_series/running_stalker_cop_in_linux_under_wine

NOW the game actually opens, but every time I try to start a new game it says that my video card doesn't meet the game requirements. I've already set the graphics to minimal. It could be that my computer just legitimately sucks... But after all this work I've got to try and find a workaround for it.

By the way, thanks for your posts Gydion.
Success!!! I tired a bunch of things to get the game to start but it wouldn't. Finally I had a hunch that it may be because of DirectX, so I used winetricks to install d3dx9 and now the game is running! I still need to mess around with the graphics a bit to polish it up, and there may be more glitches incoming, but I actually managed to run around in the game for a few minutes. Very excited to play now.
