THX1342: I tried deleting all my saves in
https://www.gog.com/account/cloud-saves/page/1 but that stil doens't fix it..
Since the game auto-saves a lot (and creates a 6MB file for each auto-save) the total amount of saves currently (5h gameplay) is over 230MB...
Again, why is GOG complaining about this if I already disabled the cloud save option.....
skadog: This is what I did to resolve this issue.
I deleted all but the last two saves in game and then exited.
After that I go to my save games directory:
'C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\GOG\SaveGames\Data\'
Here you will see all the *.sav files.
I think this may be part of the problem. It seems that deleting your saves in game doesn't remove the files.
Sort these by date, and then move all but the newest two into a temporary directory. Preferably in some other folder (like on your desktop). e.g. '%userprofile%\desktop\Stalker2BackupSaves\'
Alternatively, you can archive all but the most recent two .sav files to a .zip or .7z, or .rar (your choice), and move the older .sav files out of the Data directory, or if you don't care about them just delete them. If you archived them, then it shouldn't matter.
Then launch Galaxy and the game again and then, exit the game, it should cloud sync again.
Your mileage may vary, good luck Stalker!
EDIT: crisis averted. I create a new game, saved the game, quit the game. copied over my saved files and renamed one of my old saves to the name of the new-game save file I had just created. I can access now my old save. the other ones, at least, are also synced to cloud storage although I can't access them.
I"m sure this should work but I think I messed up the sequence of steps or something... now I lost all my saves (I have the files from 'C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\GOG\SaveGames\Data\' but when I load the game it doesn't detect my saves).
oh well..
