Barney37: Many years ago, when I first tried CS, I remember hating it with bruning hatred ,despite of me being a really big Stalker fan even back then, but now I kinda wanna revisite it ,and check if is as bad as I remember .
Your toughts and experiences with the game? How was your first time playing it? Will gadly listen to stories about it
Late to the thread.
I played through CS, and loathed it from the outset, and the way the game progressed, my opinion of the game did not ever manage to be risen to merely hated. It actually managed to fall to completely despised.
It is a story, very strictly on rails, from which you are NEVER permitted to stray.
I loathed it from the start, due to being forced, without option to join CS, and only being able to leave the Swamp using a CS Guide.
Kill
ALL CSers in their dumb little bolt hole, and instant CTD.
Kill all the ones up at the old farm, and Whoops. No travel for YOU!
Kill ALL the CSers around the map, at every spot where Bandits can be based, and if you don't KEEP killing the CSers they'll respawn and kill off the Bandits.
So no matter what you want or even try to do, you wind up HAVING to join CS and do what those stupid greenies tell you.
Then, once you get out of the Swamp, your chances of escaping are effectively non-existent.
You have a 98% chance of being shredded by an anti-tank machine-cannon emplacement operated by Military with Superman's X-Ray Vision.
And of the remaining 2%, 1.99999999% of that is chewed up with the chance of being found and executed by the patrol squad.
And the last, remaining, .00000001% chance of escaping the death trap and making it to the Loners Camp, is all the game devs allow you to get through the start of the second map, alive.
That's right. You have a less than 1 in 10000 chance of actually surviving the start of the second map.
After that, I decided that if the game is going to actively screw me over 6 ways from Sunday, then I'd flamin' well repay its abuse with cheating of my own. Trainers, cheats, and god-mode mods and hacks. The whole bloody lot.
After that, it was just an ugly grind to get through the thing.
