@ Gog
As a long time Modder of the game.....Like since the first game was available to be purchased. there were no downloads of the game at that time.
After looking over the Directory i don't see were any of the patches are installed even though the Gog down loader say's 10006 version. Where are they?
Is the game Patched because this game NEEDS the 10005 Patch or it is really extremely Buggy. ( You don't need any of the other patches before this one as they are included in it.)
The 10006 also know as the 5-6 patch is for Multiplayer only it fixes a few of the Bugs that were in the Server itself and some play ability issues with Multiplayer.
Though normally you can not even install the 10006 aka 5-6 patch without the 10005 patch installed first. Is this Patch installed. the game Mod Manager needs to be able to read this to get the right version from the Directory of the game.
Can the game be installed outside of the Gog directory ?
What happens if i use my Keys for the game in the settings folder do i lose them to GOG like you do with Steam or can i still load the game from my own game disk and play the Game ?
Thing is Stalker never had a DRM problem to begin with and was fully playable till lately on the Windows 7 OS You can load it and it will play, it just doesn't fully recognize the video cards memory and the Patches won't load, at least on my systems for some reason. Though i can probably get a mod that will fix this or a patch. I think the game just doesn't recognize the new gen of cards. That's a upgrade that needs done to the games engine.
And it has a World Server that DOES REQUIRE a KEY to be able to join servers. Have you circumvented this some how ?
This is really important if you run a long time Server like i have. That Key is a Security measure for your Servers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
On Multiplayer does this still apply so i can run a Server ?
I have several Game disks of the game with legitimate keys because i use to run Servers for the game under Dirty Birds Server. These Servers have Custom Maps and mods and the player to join must have these in order to Join or the Server would lock them out.

The 24-7 Server:
Your server needs a Static IP address as well ( If you are running a Server so many other people can join at anytime, this is a Server running 24 7 ) this is set up on the Computer you host your Server on. I have separate systems to run my Servers on. When i run them and they are rebooted every so often. ( at least ever 12 hours or so ) You don't want your main computer to have a Static IP for Security reasons. It always better to have a Server on a separate Computer. You can use a older computer as long as it meets the min spec's of Stalker. even as Admin and Owner you will join the Server just like anyone else only you have Admin rights. so you can use the console to kick if needed or ban. you set all this up your self when setting up the Server.
Running a Server isn't for the faint of heart you are Both Judge and Jury and have to be impartial no matter what. you can lose some good friends along the way and make more friends. depends on you, and understanding that even though it's your server you cannot take advantage of that fact against another player or you will have empty servers. Remember this is just a Game. Use your head. give new players time to get equipped a bit, don't allow Spawn killing. you can set this up so they have a bit of invulnerability when they spawn in.
