Hello

I just got this lovely game .I remember years ago on a less capable machine I never had a problem with this but now it is.

So I don't have a cursor on game menu when I load the game. I try using wasd keys but they don't work . Directional buttons work but not ENTER so I can't confirm nothing.

An unusual problem. What are your specs? - I'd say it could be a resolution issue, but if you can't do anything in the menu, then I'm gussing you're running at default settings?!

Windows 7 ultimate 64. Phenom 1055t 16 gig Ram and geeforce 970 g1.

Game loads in default resolution but I don't have a mouse cursor. So I can't change nothing .even when I use directional buttons they work but I can't execute nothing as enter doesn't work nor anything else seem to respond.

Thats pretty weird. I've had it happen to me using some mods that changed the main menu, but the enter button always worked...
Have you added any mods already? - or maybe you're on a dual monitor setup (dont know if that would affect it, but I know it can glitch the odd game here and there).

I didn't patch it all . It's vanilla version from GOG . Pretty upset about it . Was looking forward to playing this game .I found that people had similar problems in steam forums but nobody helped them with answer . Tbh don't know what to do .

- they're usually pretty good at sorting out any issues, and if they cant get it running for you within 30 days of purchase, they'll give you a refund at least.

I'm gonna ping this issue to a friend of mine though (from the modders Dez0wave) as he'll likely know a good solution - or at the very least a reason as to why its happening. :)

Still doesn't work though. I am a bit confused here.

I am having the same issue, I can start a new game with my keyboard but once it loads I cannot aim. Same thing in all of the menus. I have tried all sorts of things including installing bug fix mods in the hopes that they fix it.

Has anyone found anything yet?

I'd really suggest you contact GOG support regarding it as nobody seems to have an answer - as such it must be a farily rare problem for there to be no specific fix (especially if a mod team like Dez0wave have not heard of it) - that is, rare enough that nobody has bothered to make a fix as yet. Support however may be able to point you on the right track (for all I know its as simple as a driver conflict) and at the least, if they cant get the game running for you, then the 30 days money back will come into effect.

IF however they do have a fix / help you to fix it then please also report back as I'm sure there will eventually be others with the issue.

Alright, so last night was when all of this happened and I tried many things as well as submitted a report to GOG support.

Somehow, however, today my mouse seems to function in the game just fine.... Which is odd considering restarting was one of the tests I performed...

I did also force windowed mode as well as patched the .EXE to use more than 2GB of RAM as part of my testing yesterday. I am unsure if either of these was the fix or if my issue was merely intermittent. Seeing as how rarely this issue seems to crop up, It may have just been the particular way my computer was configured yesterday in terms of drivers/running programs, etc... or just the alignment of the planets.

I am normally pretty good at tracking this sort of thing down though, I will attempt to bring the issue back and make record of any changes as well as what my computer is doing at the time in an effort to pin this down. I'll post back if I find any clues.

No promises, I just want to help any future users who encounter this.

I have had "windowed mode" help get the mouse cursor on other games where it wasn't showing up. Maybe that was it..

2 years on from this thread and still no solution, seriously wtf checking the steam forums there are a ton of people with the same problem, still no solution

mouse just doesnt register in either ShoC or CoP

its such bs, all the threads for this problem are years old and still no solution
