Over the years I've come to accept that Ukraine has produced some of the most talented & most ambitious video game developers of all time. GSC Game World and Deep Shadows are two of my favorite video game developers. I recently started playing Boiling Point: Road to Hell, and it has quickly become one of my absolute favorite games ever made; I consider it a criminally underrated masterpiece. I love open world shooters, and I feel like GSC Game World and Deep Shadows are two of the most important innovators of this genre. GSC is so important to the game industry that several other ambitious game series by other devs like Xenus and Metro wouldn't even exist without them!

So, when news broke out of Russia's invasion of Ukraine two weeks ago, it didn't take long for me to start worrying about all of the talented game developers headquartered in Ukraine who are gravely threatened by Putin's military.

I seriously hope nothing bad happens to any of Ukraine's game developers. GSC and Deep Shadows have brought me so much joy and amazement in my life with their outstanding products, and I have nothing but respect for these two studios, which is why I can't bear the thought of what would happen to gaming if we were to lose them. This medium of art CANNOT afford such a tremendous loss! GSC, Deep Shadows, and all of Ukraine's other developers: PLEASE stay safe! I truly wish you guys the best. You have my sympathy.
