The narrow FOV makes me a bit nauseous plus I also have a 21:9 ultrawide monitor so it doesn't help things much. Is there any way to fix this?

FoV Switcher can do this: Also for Call of Pripyat you can use modded xrGame.dll which allows you to change fov using console commands: Place it inside Bin folder and then adjust your fov with cam_fov and hud_fov console commands.
