Hey, the laser guided homing grenades are really starting to piss me off. I was in the process of doing an escort mission in Call of Chernobyl (it's not too bad, at least you can order the companions to not engage anyone and just follow you) and I got killed like 10 times in a row by grenades. Running away doesn't seem to help, as they just throw them whereever I run to.

I've searched over the web and you'll find this question alot. However the replies are all by idiots who are like "lololol, just keep moving and you'll be fine!!11!"

So, please only reply to this thread if you know how to completely disable NPC grenade throwing in the config files. I know that grenade accuracy is related to general accuracy, and I know where to adjust that, but I have no idea how to turn off AI grenade throwing. It was disabled in the vanilla version, so there must be a way to turn it off.

EDIT: I looked at ZRP for Shadow of Chernobyl and they use custom scripts to enable/disable NPC grenades, but I don't see an easy way to transfer this to COP mods. I still hope that there is a way to edit or delete a single file to disable this in COC.

You could ask your question at the Call of Chernobyl ModDB forum, if it is not in the FAQ there.

If it is based on xStream's work, then you could look in your mod's gamedata\scripts folder for a file called xrs_grenade.script. If it exists, try renaming it to something else and then playing. This is a standard way of disabling NPC grenade-throwing completely if xStream-based, but that mod is known for modifying a lot of scripts.

Otherwise, look for configuration options in Call of Chernobyl. There might be a way to disable it there.

Also, there are a lot of mods for that mod/game. Look on the ModDB page for all the mods made for it. There might be a mod that does what you want.
Thank you for your reply. I also discovered that the file you mention is used by ZRP and enabling/disabling grenades there is easy.

In CoC this file does not exist though. I might ask on their forums, as there is no setting in the configuration pertaining to grenades. My guess is that I likely would have to unpack the .db files and alter a file contained therein.

For now I think I will just reduce grenade damage and blast radius to a very low number, though this will also make it more difficult to fight powerful mutants like the pseudogiant :-D
