So the other day I downloaded Stalker Build 1935 from ModDB.com, but when I went to install it, after I double clicked it I learned that I apparently didn't have the necessary application/software to open & install the game. It's a .rar file, which I am unfamiliar with. Do I need WinRAR, 7-Zip, or a similar software to access .rar files? In my time spent using 7-Zip (which I don't have installed at the moment), I remember it being able to work with many other file types aside from just zip files, so that's why I mentioned WinRAR and 7-Zip since I figure they might work on .rar files too. Is this true? Will WinRAR or 7-Zip be the software I need in order to open & install this .rar file type?

Alright, time for an update. I gotta talk about this.

When I extracted the .rar file and installed the game to program files x86, I couldn't figure out how to get it running. It didn't make a desktop shortcut like many games do, I couldn't find it listed in my start menu bar, and when I perused its x86 files, none of the files I tried to open worked! WTF I have never encountered this issue with any other game before. What kind of game installs but cannot be played or accessed in any way??
