I have the same issue with Shadow Of Chernobyl
high rated
Same here. Before i bought the stalker pack i checked whether the german language is supported or not. The description of all three games said yes, but even if i select german and download it, the downloaded game itself has english or french language.

I tried it with Shadow of Chernobyl and didn't use the Galaxy Launcher.

Ok, i figured out how to fix this issue for Shadow of Chernobyl.

1) Copy the gamedata.db9 from your gamefolder (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl)
2) Paste it in the "En" folder inside the localization folder as backup
3) Copy the gamedata.db9 from the Ge folder (or any other language), which is inside the localization folder
4) Paste and overwrite the gamedata.db9 in the gamefolder

Now the texts and language should be german.

Same works for Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. Go to your gamefolder and search for "localization" Now just backup the xenglish.db and replace it with the xgerman.db or whatever language you like.
Or just use language.exe.

Ofc that work as easiest way only after proper steps in game installation. For GOG Galaxy version reinstall (as admin) Galaxy itself strickly to D/Games/GOG/Galaxy/
Start it asadmin (temporary). Install game to X/Games/Stalker-{*-SoC} or same. Make verification after downloading. At least twice.

Start language.exe from Galaxy client that still launched as admin or launch it directly from game folder AS ADMIN. Start first time game from client in admin mode. Only then restart client not as admin and start game again.

If there is previous installation - should be removed. From WinRegistry too. From VirtualStore too. But main config folder is My Documents.

Issue is language.exe along with whole game are in Program Files and/or don't have admin rights to make changes in files order in game data sub-folders. Windows and 3rd party security services prevent making changes, language selector do nothing.

GOG version differences after GOG Galaxy - no need to properly install and launch Galaxy client, no need game verification after downloading. Just reinstall the game from install launched as admin. In same folders. Remove older game folders and registry entries.
Opposite step to client one is manually check digital signature of downloaded installer exe file. And enable checkbox for bin-archives integrity check during installation set-up.
Language.exe and first game launch still should be started as admin. Next launches admin are optional.
