For some reason I cannot survive an emission outdoors despite having the "Marked by the Zone" achievement. I am using the Call of Pripyat Complete mod. The descriptions I can find say that I should pass out and wake up with a sliver of health, but nope! The emission first drains my health at a steady pace, and then the wave hits and I instantly drop dead. Any idea what is wrong?

edit: I have managed to survive emissions occasionally now. The falling unconscious part happens just before the big wave hits. I think the problem might have to do with how smoothly the game is running. If it is choppy, maybe the advancing border where the player character is supposed to fall unconscious updates in such a way that it skips right past me.
