for some of us the game will launch and simply won't show any image, it will run normally with sound but you'll just see a black screen.

just look for user.ltx file in your pc, open it with notepad and change the fullscreen to off, save it and launch.
that should fix it.
then, in game, just set the video options to your taste and it will run fine.
