Spore was working fine until I hit the tribal stage, now it works for about 5 minutes and then it crashes. There isn't any performance problems or stuttering the game just crashes out of no where. Any advice or help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Same problem more or less, I noticed that when I hit the creature stage the game would crash immediately when I started recording using Action recording software, so I switched to fraps and that worked for awhile, but now on tribal stage I immediately crash hard(hard enough my computer gives out BIOS error code beeps) without any recording software running.

If your BIOS gives errors I would suggest analysing the computer itself, such things are 99,9% of the time not software related.
Could be that the motherboard battery is empty.

Yeah its buggy everywhere but especially in the early stages. Sometimes running in window mode is a little more stable but save a lot.

The problem is not realy the crash, but the loosing of the save. I bought the game yesterday and played until creature stage, no problem. Then it crashed, and all was lost. The only thing, the game saved, was my creature creation. But the progress is lost. I already read this problem in the reviews of the game, but only once.

Here's the quetion: why is my progress lost, when the game crashes, and why is this issue seemly seldom?

If this is so, there should be a solution against the progress-loss, shouldn't it?

Edit: hmpf. It happened again. Since I'm on ´holiday at the moment, I can play REALY long. 8-10 hours play lost... I installed dark infection and tried to get the bird-wings. I was again trying to evolve (creatue-stage was completed, but you can evolve as often as you want, and with dark infection, you have a limit of 100.000 DNA-points...) And it happend there!
