First of all, I apologize for all my previous negativity -- I admit I acted like an entitled, annoying kid just because I like the game and I "paid money for it". It wasn't nice, I fully understand that it mustn't be easy for a single person to be working on a game, trying to cater to the community they hang around with (in this case, modders and speedrunners), and having to be bothered by the "casuals" who also happen to play the game and demand keyboard+mouse support, and all that nonsense, while maintaining a PC version and a Switch one simultaneously.
The thing is, every once in a while I do visit the SATCM Steam forums, and it seems like the Steam version keeps getting updates, whereas the last update I got on GOG was when the Authoring Tools were unbundled from the main game, back in June 2018 (according to the game's changelog, the latest update dates back to 29 June 2018). The Steam version, on the other hand, got an update on March 26th 2019. Now, I know we GOG users tend to use this argument of not wanting to be treated like second-class citizens a lot, but sometimes it's warranted. I think this is one of those times. I don't really want to sound entitled yet again, but GOG customers DID pay for the game just like Steam customers did, and I don't think it's remotely fair that they keep getting updates while we don't. Maybe I'm to blame, maybe I was too vocal and too negative when I complained about all the patches we were getting, while none of them actually made the keys rebindable, and the constant up-rezzing was bloating the game so much that it was becoming unplayable on older, weaker machines. For that, I sincerely apologize, but I still think that's no reason for a company ("THQ" Nordic, in this case), to treat GOG customers like crap and stop supporting their game in here.
It's sad that Swyter is overworked, and that this is just a "passion project" and he's doing all of this "out of love" (for modders and speedrunners), but maybe it's time Nordic hired more people to help him out with Sphinx, because at this rate the game will never be in a satisfactory state in the near future. By now, I uninstalled it and will only consider installing it again when the GOG version is at least on par with the Steam one (preferably with proper keyboard+mouse support).
I do wish the dev all the luck in the world, he's doing an amazing job, considering he's singlehandedly working on it, but part of me kind of just wants to forget this game altogether... it's been a crappy, bumpy ride, and I see no signs of improvement.
