Hello!

I have just bought the whole SPELLFORCE saga thanks to the big summer sale.
Both SPELLFORCE 2 games start without problem, but SPELLFORCE 1 doesn't even start ... when I click on the icon the screen went black and a message box appears stating the SPELLFORCE.EXE has stopped running.
I have the latest NVIDIA drivers.

Any clue?

Disable desktop composition, visual themes and display high DPI.

Also, either reinstall the games in a different folder than program files/x86 or run as admin if you have admin rights in case either isn't already being done.

The game is installed under K:\GAMES\SPELLFORCE, it has admin rights, it has disable high DPI and I have tried ALL the compatibility option as well.
Reading under documents\spellforce there is a LOG.TXT file that states that the file CONFIG.LUA is missing ... so reading on this forum I found one and I have copied it under the install directory ... now the log.txt doesn't report anymore that error, but the problem remains.

I forgot ... in the config.lua I have tried all the values from 1 to 9 of the parameter screenresolution but without luck.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I forced the antivirus to ignore the SPELLFORCE.EXE and the game now runs perfectly ... please note that if you set the antivirus to ignore the whole game directory the problem remains ... only excluding the game's executable works.
