There's a well-known game breaking camera bug in Spellforce 2 Shadow Wars that basically freezes the game and stops you from progressing to the next map. The bug occurs during several of the puzzle sections, such as the mosaic puzzle in Crystal Forest, etc. Apparently the bug may be triggered only with the Gold Edition -- that is, with Dragon Storm installed alongside Shadow Wars. A fan made patch is available, as the developers never provided a patch owing to a license change and the subsequent lack of support. My question -- now that the game is back in the GOG catalog for a one time weekend promotion -- is whether the GOG version is patched with the user patch, or is it unnecessary since the game is sold standalone? Obscure question, I know, but I bought the Gold Edition on GamersGate only to find two thirds of the way through that the bug does indeed halt progress, and I'm certainly hoping that's not the case with this version.
