Waltorious: From what I have heard, the gameplay in the two games is very similar, with most people feeling that SR2 is simply a better version of SR1. So yeah, a demo of SR2 should give you a good sense of SR1 but you might also be a little disappointed when you go back to the older game after trying the newer one out.
Oh no no! You are completely wrong about that. SR2 would not give you a good sense of what SR1 is. SR2 is not just a spruced up SR1. It is practically an entirely different game. It's almost as if the software developers just chucked all of the programming code in SR1 and started again from scratch when making SR2.
You obviously haven't played both versions or you would not be implying that there is little difference between the two. That couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, of all of the software I have ever bought later versions of, including applications and not just games, I would have to say the SR1 and SR2 and as different as night and day.
Maybe you are assuming that there is little difference between the two Space Ranger games because that is usually the way it is with upgrades and later versions of most software, but trust me whan I say that that is not the case with SR1 and SR2, but I can sort of see where you are coming from. With a lot of software, the difference between original versions and later versions are like the difference between WIndows 95 service pack 1 and WIndows 95 service pack 2. However, with the two Space Ranger games, it is more like the difference between WIndows 3.11 (if you can remember that far back) and Windows 7. Get the picture? ;)
