I've hovered a bit on some posts in this forum and I'm not too keen on buying this fearing I won't be able to play it...

It does work, but not all versions of SR2 will work for everyone. This thread talks about a couple problems several folks, including myself, have encountered: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/space_rangers_series/i_cant_play_sr2/page1

Edit: Well, just noticed that gOg worked with 1C to get the updated Reboot version. For what it's worth, the Reboot version fixed the problem I was having with gOg's original Dominators version, so this should increase the odds of it working for you.

Thanks for the info. I'll wait a bit for more feedback.
As mentioned on the sales thread. I never had problems with the steam version of SR2: Reboot on Win7 64bit and I played over 150 hours of it.

But naturally wait for some more GOG experiences to come in.

Unless they messed something up though, I really don't see why it would have issues.
I had problem playing it (all the problems quote before). I solved it by doing this step (very easy)

Go in the cfg.ini file, use right click, then properties, then "security'.

Allow to write on this file ( click on your user profil and tip "Allow me all".

Then, open this file, look for "Window=no" turn it to "Window=yes"

have fun !

Excellent solution. Worked perfectly for me after that. Only thing to note is that it said "Window=No" in mine, but turning it to yes worked perfectly.
I can't speak for the specific version GoG is selling, but SR2, in my experience, is just as compatible with Win7 as it was with XP and Vista. The only problem I ever had was the videos not playing, and I both did and did not have that on XP, Vista, and 7.

For what its worth, I do not have the problem with the GoG release of (click, click) Reboot on Win7 x64.
