I tried searching for quite a long time for a fix for the black screen problem in Space Rangers 1. And I managed to find a solution so I thought I'd share it. Basically you just need the ddraw.dll from the releases page here. Unzip that into the game folder and it should work.
Sorry for the double post. It didn't turn up the first time. So I thought it had gotten lost in traffic...

Hi,

on my Win10 I finally succeded in launch the game via main .exe in Win98/ME compatibility mode.

Instead there is no way to launch that from GogGalaxy: black screen ever. I suppose it's a GOG bug at this point -> the game works but not from galaxy.

Regards.

Is that with or without the dll mentioned above in the game folder? I can run it just fine without setting a compatibility mode and launching directly from Galaxy with that file in the Space Rangers main folder.

Hi,

without the DLL so the game as-is after the installation.

I'd just like to chime in and say that this works with SR2 in Windows 10 as well. Thanks for posting this!
