the game seems to have become completely unplayable, I've defended Sol from klissan attack and by the time I land on a planet for repairs it's already under attack again! this has happened for about 6-7 non stop attacks, I cant afford the constant repairs and its just completely lost, plus every possible jump location seems to be klissan controlled, so theres no way out.

is this normal?

Maybe... what year is it? What difficulty setting are you using? The game is quite hard, and the longer you wait the more vicious the Klissan attacks get. I'd actually recommend playing the game on the easy setting first, and then raising it on future replays for an extra challenge. I'm currently playing on easy and using the Maloq trader, as he gets along with all the races. So far it's been a lot easier than my human trader on the normal difficulty setting, but I'm still quite early in the game. The only downside is that he doesn't start with very many skills.

I haven't gotten as far as 3014, so I can't say if it's normal or not. Could be you just got unlucky when the Sol system was surrounded by Klissans, or it could be that you haven't fought the Klissans back efficiently enough and they're just winning.

As for escaping, it IS possible to jump through Klissan-controlled systems if you have enough fuel... but you'll have to run their blockade and survive to make it to the jump point. Alternatively, you might get lucky and have a black hole open up in Sol or in a nearby system if you wait long enough. You can possibly land on an unpopulated planet to wait it out.

Anyone else have advice for escaping such a dilemma? I am relatively new to the game so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

well, what I didnt explain very well is that its not just the nearest systems, but the systems after those too. and I don't have enough fuel to make another jump afterwords. I'm starting to think they have taken over the entire galaxy and Sol is all that remains...

Heck they've even destroyed every single ranger center and scientific base I know about!

Well, one last thing you can try before restarting is retaking one of the nearby systems. I've never retaken a system but I know it's a lot harder than just fighting off an invasion. But if you're equipment is good enough you might be able to manage it. I don't know if it will help, but it's probably worth a try.

Also, you can tell which systems are under Klissan control on the map screen, I think, as they'll have a crossed swords icon. So if you are worried that they've taken over the whole galaxy, you can check the map to see.

nah i'm not powerful enough for that, and as for the map, it only shows you the known attacks, bascially if the news ever mentioned a klissan attack there will be a cross swords, but sometimes they take over and you dont see it in the news or on the map

I thought that only happened if you were traveling when the attack occurred? I once flew to a system only to find it under attack when I arrived, but after the attack was repelled it showed up in the news just fine. I guess it just happened while I was flying there.

Does it also only indicate attacks if you've happened to actually READ the news? i.e. if I never checked the news, would I never get the attacks shown on the map?

it doesnt matter if you read it or not, but basically if the news knows about it, your map knows about it

Yeah, the color of the name of the system corresponds to who controls the planets currently. If the Klissans are controlling an area unopposed, then there will *not* be crossed swords, but the system's name will be... grayish blue or something? I forget.

Last night I've cleared my first sector! in my opinion the impotant thing to do not to be overhelmed by klissans is to partecipate to as many battles as possible and cooperate with friend ships a lot. There is no more time to do our business!!!
