I have Win7 64bit. The opening cinematic runs fine as well as the music. When it gets to the main menu, all I can see is the blue arrow/cursor. The rest of the screen is black. I changed R2 to R1, have my video drivers up to date.

Go in the cfg.ini file, use right click, then properties, then "security'.

Allow to write on this file ( click on your user profil and tip "Allow me all".

Then, open this file, look for "Window=false" turn it to "Window=yes"

In a few words, you need to download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8871833/wined3d.zip, then extract '32 bit' folder's content (content! not the folder itself) to SR folder (where rangers.exe is located) and you are ready to go.

This helped me after desperate search and trial of tons of other tools, like dxwnd, RangersRedrawer, driver tweaks, etc. Hope it helps, good luck and have fun =)
