It would be really nice to be able to place walls, power nodes, ect. without actually building them... in order to organize easier. I notice this very early on more than anything. I want to layout the ship plan, but first i need to build tools. Loving the game, but it's a pain having to wait for a building to finish before placing another.

Would also work if there was a way of having a build order, so they wont waste time on walls when something more important needs to be built.

Yeah, like the "sketch hull"-feature! You could add a "low priority construction"-button to items, opposite to the "high priority construction" one. Or "pause construction".
