It only lasted until I went into the options menu so it's not a problem but did anyone else get a loud 'static' noise the first time they started the game?

OH BTW, see the name and get used to the avatar because while I use to play a lot of space empire games I haven't done it religiously in a long time and the chances are good I'm going to be flooding this forum with A LOT of stupid questions. :P
